Double Chin
Non-Surgical Treatment
Double chin or turkey neck is when an abundant structure develops under our chin. It is one of the hardest area to fix. A number of factors can change the contour of the neck and jaw line. These include weight gain and loss, weakening of the supporting structures such platysma, and loss of skin elasticity. The appearance can be hereditary or more typically found as part of the aging process.
We used to have only one treatment for these conditions, surgery such as liposuction and neck lift, but now thanks to advances in technology, we can treat it with a variety of non-surgical ways including Coolsculpting, Ultherapy, Kybella, Laser treatment, Pelleve-RF, Microneedling, Botox (Xeomin), Laser, Dermal filler, Cream, etc. However, the major non-surgical treatments for double chin is Coolsculpting, Ultherapy and Kybella
CoolSculpting
An FDA-Approved Non-Invasive Treatment for Turkey Neck
CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared to treat fat in the submental area (chin). With one treatment, there can be a 20-25% reduction of fat in that area.
The CoolSculpting procedure safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin. Treated fat cells are crystalized (frozen), then die. Over time, the body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. It is similar to liposuction, but it is non-invasive.

Ultherapy:
An FDA-Approved Non-Invasive Treatment for Turkey Neck
Ultherapy is the only procedure approved by the FDA for lifting and tightening the skin of the neck and chest without surgery. This non-invasive treatment for turkey neck can be completed in just one ultrasound procedure with no downtime. And it’s completely safe. Ultherapy treatment is more similar to neck lift.
Ultherapy works by delivering the right amount of ultrasonic energy at the right depths, and at the right temperature, which, in turn, triggers the natural regeneration of age-weakened collagen, as well as the production of fresh, new collagen. It also is the only procedure to use ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective.

Combination of CoolSculpting and Ultherapy
A combination of CoolSculpting and Ultherapy would work well together. Coolsculpting works beautifully on the "double chin" area and freezing the fat away. Ultherapy is great for treating any sagging skin that is left from the Coolsculpting procedure. The combination can be similar to effect of liposuction and neck lift.
Coolsculpting and Ultherapy can also be used for treatment independently. The choice depends on what is the main concerns of the neck area. If it is too much fat, Coolsculpting is the the best option. If it is skin laxity, Ultherapy is recommended.
Kybella
Kybella for the treatment of double chin is recently approved by the FDA, Kybella is also called deoxycholic acid, our body nature bill product to desolve the fat. The kybella injection is to change contours and improve the appearance of moderate to severe submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin.” Submental fullness can impact a broad range of adults, including both men and women.
When injected into subcutaneous fat, Kybella causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of small areas of firmness around the treatment area.
Chin Liposuction
Chin liposuction, also known as submental liposuction, is a minimally invasive procedure that removes excess fat from beneath the chin and in the upper neck to reduce the appearance of a double chin. It can permanently remove fat that diet and exercise can't address, and it can improve the appearance of your face and neck.
Microneedling
Neck microneedling is also a quick and efficient way to tone up the neck. It is designed to aid lymph drainage and blood flow, eliminating puffiness, kick-starting neck muscles and plumping out wrinkles. It can tight up neck skin and reduce wrinkles.
Botox Injection
Botox can improve vetical band and horizontal lime, but it has a limited role at improving the saggy neck.
Lasers
These can improve skin texture and lines in the neck. It has limited effect to lift neck.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers can also work very well along the jawline to create definition and minimize jowls.
